Opis
Badiola is our winery in the heart of Rioja Alavesa. Founded in 2018 by acquiring an existing winery, Badiola offers village and single vineyard wines that display the freshness, elegance and depth of flavours which we believe distinguish the great wines from Rioja Alavesa. We cultivate over 300 parcels of extraordinary vineyards on the slopes of the Sierra Cantabria, mainly in the villages of Villabuena de Alava, Leza, Samaniego, Laguardia, Navaridas and Baños del Ebro. The average age of the vineyards is around 50 years and many were planted in the 1920s, 30s and 40s.
Made from high quality fruit from hilltop (“cabezadas”) vineyards on limestone soils, without any use of oak.
Fresh and subtle nose, pure aromas of stone fruit with a touch of white flowers and matchstick. Light and crisp on the palate, yet with good fruit concentration and a refreshingly dry, slightly mineral finish.
A elegant, dry white wine, with delicate aromas, which do not overpower food. Ideal with fish and poultry, rice and pasta dishes, as well as an excellent dry aperitif. Ready to drink, will keep for a further two years.
